ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- Disappointed, heartbroken and now confused; Cardinals fans are riding a whole bunch of emotions on Tuesday.
After they were told it could take several weeks to refund their Cardinals World Series tickets, some St. Louis diehards were beside themselves.
But there is some good news for Cardinal fans tonight. The St. Louis Cardinals ticket sales office now says refunds should be processed by the end of next week for those who bought World Series tickets online or by phone.
Customers won’t have to do a thing for that to happen since they have all of your refund information.
If fans purchased their ticket at the Busch Stadium box office or at the kiosks, they’ll have to go online, print out the form and fill it out for a refund.
Some customers are asking if it took just minutes for the Cardinals to charge for those tickets, why is it taking at least a week to get money back?
The organization says it’s a matter of volume. The Cardinals sold about 180,000 tickets to 2012 World Series games that would’ve featured the Cards.
“When just one person calls and gets a ticket, that’s just one transaction but this is a very large amount of transactions so to get that back through the merchants is not an easy process,” said Rob Fasoldt, Cardinals Ticket Sales and Services Director.
Hopefully, fans didn’t tear up your World Series tickets Monday night in exasperation. If they were bought at the Busch Stadium box office or at the kiosks, customers have to mail those along with the form to get a refund.
