(KMOV.com) – Sports broadcaster Bob Costas and SSM Cardinal Glennon Children’s Medical Center unveiled a new colorful and child-friendly space aimed at helping cancer patients recover.
The Costas Center sees 6,000 patients each year and is specifically designed to help children face treatments for pediatric cancer and life-threatening blood and immune disorders. Officials reported the renovations cost $820,000 and were supported by the Bob Costas Benefit and various fundraisers.
The area includes bubble walls, a pirate ship and a 28-foot interactive yellow submarine with the capability to show movies and play video games.
