(KMOV) – One person was killed and two others hospitalized after the care they were in struck a tree in the Gate District neighborhood in south St. Louis on Thursday.
Authorities say a vehicle was traveling near the intersection of Lafayette and S. Compton just before 9 a.m. when it ran a stop sign and crashed into a car, which then struck a tree.
One person in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken to the hospital in unknown condition. A fourth person refused treatment.
The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is handling the investigation.
