Cahokia man sentenced in child pornography case

(KMOV)- A Cahokia man was sentenced today in a child pornography case.

Kevin Dunigan, 54, pled guilty on April 12 to a two count indictment charging him with knowingly recieving child pornography, and knowingly possessing child pornography.

Dunigan was sentenced to 168 months and 10 years supervised release. He must also pay restitution of $576 and $200 special assessment.

Dunigan's case was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to combat the growing problem of child secual exploitation and abuse.

It was started in May 2006 by the Department of Justice.
