(KMOV) -- Budweiser on Tuesday presented a $1.5 million check to Folds of Honor, a not-for-profit group that’s provided more than 1,300 scholarships to families of soldiers killed or disabled in action.
For every case of Budweiser sold between May 4 and July 5, 2013, Budweiser made donations totaling $1 million. The Anheuser-Busch Foundation gave an additional $500,000. All the money will go to 300 scholarships.
The check was presented to the founder of Folds of Honor, Major Dan Rooney, at the Anheuser-Busch Biergarten.
Also in attendance was scholarship recipient representative Ginger Ravella, a mother of five whose husband was killed in combat in 2006. Ravella, whose children’s education has been paid for by Folds of Honor, gave a heartfelt speech about her experience with the foundation.
Since 2010, Budweiser has raised more than $6.5 million for Folds of Honor.
