ST. LOUIS (AP/KMOV) -- Federal mediation has held off a possible machinists strike at Boeing.
Boeing workers in St. Louis put off signing a letter of intent to strike in 7 days after both sided agreed to meet with a mediator on Friday.
The workers voted down Boeing's last offer on Sunday. The major issue is the pension plan for future hires. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers represents about 2,500 Boeing workers in St. Louis.
The union says Boeing has not made any attempt to schedule negotiations after workers rejected the company offer. A Boeing spokesman wasn't immediately available to comment.
