(KMOV)-Thousands of local Boeing machinists could vote to strike this weekend.

On Thurday, Boeing issued it's final contract proposal to the local machinists union.

Union leaders are pushing all 2,533 members of the union to reject the offer.

The proposal does not include hires made after 2012 in the pension plan. The voting will take place on Sunday, and if the plan is rejected, then the union members will have to vote on a strike.
