CHESTER, Ill. — The bodies of a murdered southwestern Illinois woman and her two slain children are soon to be reburied in the Chicago area.
The bodies of Sheri Coleman and her two sons, ages 11 and 9, were exhumed Tuesday and were headed to Chicago.
Coleman and her sons were found strangled in 2009, and they were buried in Chester. Sheri Coleman’s husband, Christopher Coleman was convicted and is serving a life sentence in the killings.
Sheri Coleman’s family had sued to have the bodies exhumed and moved to the Chicago area where they live, but Christopher Coleman’s parents objected. A Randolph County judge last month sided with Sheri Coleman’s family and cleared the way for the exhumations and reburials.
