ST. CHARLES COUNTY (KMOV.com) -- This time next month, cars in the westbound lanes of the Blanchette Bridge will be sharing the road with the traffic from the eastbound side.
This will no doubt create some big traffic headaches, but will allow MoDOT crews to repair the bridge.
In a final push to prepare drivers, St. Charles city and county officials have put up signs pointing drivers in the right direction to some of the main attractions in St. Charles.
Other construction crews are working overtime to finish projects on roads that will soon become much more crowded as drivers adjust their routes.
Those projects include the new intersection on Arena Parkway, and South Main Street under the bridge.
Officials tell News 4 they realize it will be a big adjustment in the beginning, but they’re hoping all this prep work will ease the transition.
