BEL-RIDGE, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Residents of a Bel-Ridge apartment building were forced to evacuate Wednesday morning after a suspicious fire broke out inside a first-floor unit.
Officials said firefighters were called to the scene in the 8800 block of Dragonwyk Drive just before 11 a.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered that the front door to the unit that was on fire was locked. That unit suffered the worst damage. Other units in the building suffered minor smoke damage.
Ron Fritz with Northeast Fire and Rescue said the fire was suspicious. Bomb and arson crews were called to the scene to investigate further.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
