TROY, Mo. (KMOV) —The president of a Troy bank is being credited with stopping a robber and holding him until police arrived.
Police said Donald Lee, 58, walked into the Peoples Bank and Trust right before the bank closed wearing a Halloween mask.
Authorities said Lee went up to the bank teller acting like he had a gun and demanded money.
Police said Lee, who was also wearing a heavy jacket, calmly walked away from the tellers carrying one of the banks’ money bags.
Bank president David Thompson followed Lee into the parking lot, pulled out a Colt .380 and pointed it at the his face before he could drive away.
Police arrived about a minute and brought Lee into custody.
No injuries were reported.
Lee has been charged with first-degree robbery and his bail was set at $50,000.
