BERKELEY, Mo. (KMOV) – A man contacts News 4 after his house was broken into a day after he had an alarm system installed.
Plywood now covers the sliding glass door at Kim Wilder’s house in Berkeley. The plywood is hardly the security he thought he would have after having a Devcon security system installed last week.
A company official told News 4 that it is an industry standard that police will not be notified if the system goes off in the first 24-72 hours. It was no false alarm for Wilder as the thief stole jewelry, clothes and a computer monitor.
An official with the alarm company says they will work with Wilder about the situation and Berkeley police also are investigating the incident.
