10-year-old girl killed in ATV accident

(KMOV) -- A 10-year-old girl from Livingston, Illinois died after an all-terrain vehicle flipped and landed on her Friday afternoon.

The accident happened in the 11000 block of Bononi Road in New Douglas.  The girl was riding as a passenger on private land when the ATV flipped. Emergency personnel were called to the scene and she was taken to Memorial Hospital in Staunton, Illinois to be treated.  She was later flown to a St. Louis area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Authorities said the death appears to be striclty an accident.
