(KMOV) – An AT&T technician was attacked while working along a Black Jack street Tuesday morning.

Police say the victim was installing a box along Parker Road when a man wielding a knife approached the worker.

The suspect was able to flee with the victim’s cell phone and wallet.

Police say utility workers can be vulnerable since they often work alone and are distracted by the project or repair they are working on.

No suspects have been taken into custody at this time.
