ST. LOUIS (KMOV) -- Three people were hospitalized after a shooting near Carondelet Park in south St. Louis on Wednesday.

Authorities said it happened while ATF agents and police were investigating three robbery suspects in the 6100 block of South Grand around 11:15 a.m.

According to police, officers were trying to apprehend the suspects when they tried running over an ATF agent with their vehicle.

The agent fired multiple shots into the suspects’ vehicle, striking two of them.

They were transported to the hospital alive, but their conditions were unknown. The third suspect was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No ATF agents or police officers were injured, according to authorities.

Police said they recovered three guns at the scene.
