(KMOV) -- AB InBev withdrew 4,000 barrels or about 850,000 glasses of beer after a production error.

Production pipes were not properly cleaned and the brewery's Stella Artois beer was mixed with a Belgian beer with a stronger fermentation.

The result was a bad smelling, sour tasting beer that was undrinkable.

The beer has already been distributed to pubs in Belgium. The beer never made it to the United States.

The mistake will cost the brewery several hundred thousand dollars.
