Boy killed after being struck by truck

SPRINGFILED, Mo. (AP) — Police in Branson are investigating a fatal accident involving a 6-year-old boy.

The Springfield News-Leader reports that a truck was parked near a restaurant Wednesday and that police believe the child may have taken it out of gear, causing the truck to begin rolling.

Investigators aren't sure whether the boy jumped or was thrown out of the vehicle, which then struck him and caused fatal injuries.

The child's name hasn't been released.
