65-year-old woman assaulted, shot at outside south St. Louis home

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police say two armed men tried to rob a 65-year-old woman as she walked out of her home in south St. Louis on Thursday afternoon.

Authorities said the assault happened just before 4 p.m. in the 3800 block of Connecticut.

The victim told police she was walking from her home to her car when two men approached her from behind. She said one suspect asked for her money then pointed a gun at her. She yelled for help and both suspects fled. 

As the suspects continued down the street, one of the men turned and fired a shot at the victim. She was not struck. 

The victim remained unijured in the encounter and the suspects did not take any property.

Police are now looking for those two men. The suspects were described to police as two black males, 18 to 22 years of age with medium builds wearing dark-colored clothing.
