WASHINGTON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police believe wet roads may have played a role in a crash that killed a 6-month-old Sunday evening.

Police said the accident happened in Washington County, Missouri near the intersection of Highway 21 and Route CC around 7:40 p.m.

Investigators said the driver of an SUV lost control while traveling along Highway 21 and slid into the path of an extended cab pickup truck.

Sebastian Garvin was killed in the crash. According to reports, the young child was in a safety seat. The 22-year-old female driver of the SUV suffered serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

The five passengers in the pickup truck suffered moderate to serious injuries. They were all taken to a local hospital as well.

At this time, there is no official word on what caused the 22-year-old driver to lose control, but investigators believe wet roads may have contributed.
