(KMOV.com) -- A 53-year-old woman was killed when she lost control of her vehicle along a Washington County road Monday afternoon.
Authorities said the accident happened on Highway 21, just north of Old Mines Creek Road around 2:30 p.m.
According to reports, Helen Benson of Fulton, Missouri lost control of her vehicle, left the road and hit a ditch. After the vehicle hit the ditch it overturned and hit a tree. Benson was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators are not sure what caused Benson to lose control, but reported she was not wearing a seatbelt.
