Three charged in separate bank robberies inside St. Louis-area grocery stores

ST. LOUIS (KMOV) – Three suspects are in custody after they allegedly robbed three different banks inside separate St. Louis-area grocery stores over the past four months.

Latonya Jones, 28, and Michael Abbott, 28, and Damon Gibbs, 35, have all been charged with first-degree robbery.

According to police, the first robbery happened Oct. 5 when Gibbs entered the U.S. Bank inside the Schnuck’s store in the 20 block of Dillon Plaza. During the robbery, Gibbs was given and unknown amount of cash and fled the scene.

Police said Jones robbed the U.S. Bank inside the Schnuck’s in the 2030 block of Dorsett Village in Maryland Heights on Nov. 5.

On Jan. 7, Abbott allegedly robbed the First Bank inside the Dierbergs in the 8400 block of Eager in Brentwood.

Bond for Jones and Abbott was set at $100,000 each. Gibbs was given a $250,000 bond.
