29 arrested in Franklin County drug sweeps; 11 kids in state custody

A 10-day drug sweep in Franklin County led to the arrest of 29 people.

During the raids, which were conducted from May 28 to June 6, deputies confiscated a multitude of drugs, including crystal meth, crack cocaine, prescription narcotics and marijuana.

On top of that, deputies also seized guns in Washington, Bourbon, Cuba, Villa Ridge, Union and Sullivan.

The report, released by the Franklin County Narcotics Enforcement Unit, show 11 children were taken into the custody of the state department of family services. One of them was a 2-week old infant found addicted to meth and opium.
