(KMOV) – Charges have been filed against a teenager accused of robbing a gas station in Imperial on Jan. 22.
James Stephan, 18, was arrested and charged Thursday with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.
Deputies say Stephan was wearing a full ski mask when he walked into the Phillips 66 Convenient store in the 5200 block of Warren Rd. around 2:45 a.m.
Authorities say Stephan asked the clerk about the price of cigarettes, then went around the counter holding a knife and demanded money from the cash register.
Police say Stephan was given an undetermined amount of cash and fled the scene heading north on Warren Rd.
Stephan was arrested Thursday and was being held at the Jefferson County Jail on a $50,000 cash-only bond.
