EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. -- A grand jury has indicted two men in connection with the arrest of a former St. Clair County judge who resigned over drug charges.

The Belleville News-Democrat reports that 34-year-old Sean D. McGilvery and James D. Fogarty were indicted on Tuesday. Fogarty is a former St. Clair County probation officer. McGilvery is a longtime friend of former St. Clark County Circuit Judge Mike Cook. The judge resigned in May after being charged with heroin and gun possession as part of the widening courthouse drug scandal.

Fogarty was indicted on drug possession and distribution charges and a weapons charge. The grand jury indicted McGilvery on a drug possession and distribution charge.

Both men have previously pleaded not guilty to federal drug charges in the case. Cook also has pleaded not guilty.
