(KMOV) – Police are investigating two possible smash-and-grabs after vehicles were driven into separate south St. Louis beauty supply shops Thursday morning.

According to police, three suspects backed a silver mini-van into the front window of the Forever Young Beauty Supply Store in the 3600 block of S. Grand Blvd. near Winnebago around 4 a.m.

Two of the suspects entered the business and filled two trash bags with a large amount of fake hair pieces. They then jumped back into the van and the third suspect drove away from the scene.

About 45 minutes later, a vehicle was driven into Nu Way Beauty Supply in the 4200 block of S. Broadway near Meramec. Police say three suspects then stole an unknown amount of hair products. The vehicle they used was found abandoned at the scene. It was later determined it had had been stolen from the 5500 block of Alaska.

Police did not confirm if the two burglaries were connected.

The investigation into both crimes is ongoing.
