(KMOV) – Three suspects were in custody after two officers suffered injuries during a traffic stop in Pine Lawn early Monday morning.

According to police, two officers pulled over a vehicle stopped outside a known drug house near the intersection of Blakemore and Naylor around 2:45 a.m.

Police said they were conducting a pat-down of the driver outside the vehicle when he assaulted an officer and tried to flee.

A struggle ensued and one of the officers hurt the ride side of his torso. The other officer got hurt while trying to apprehend another suspect.

Three suspects were eventually captured and taken into custody.

The officers were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities said police later executed a search warrant on the house and found several illegal items.

Police said warrants were being applied for later Monday.
