(KMOV.com) – Police have identified two men found dead inside a vehicle in south St. Louis Sunday night.
According to police, officers responded to a call for shots fired in the 3200 block of Mount Pleasant around 8:20 p.m.
Upon their arrival, officers found Corey Brown, 22, and Darell Claiborne, 19, dead in the vehicle. Police say both victims had been shot in the abdomen, neck and face.
Authorities did not have any information on suspects.
The investigation is ongoing.
The shooting was part of a violent weekend in the city that saw three people killed in two separate incidents. Earlier Saturday, a man was found shot to death just blocks away from the Edward Jones Dome.
Police said they do not believe the incidents are connected.
News 4 on Monday caught up with St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay, who said guns are being used too often during disputes.
"There's too many guns on the street, too much violence to settle disputes whether its over a girl, drugs or something else," he said. "We had one situation where somebody spilt a beer on a someone and the guy pulled out a gun and shot him. That stuff has to stop. we can't tolerate it."
