(KMOV.com) – Authorities have arrested two suspects they say robbed a woman at gunpoint outside a Highland bank on Friday.
According to police, one of the suspects was arrested in Highland around 6:30 p.m. Sunday. A second suspect was taken into custody after being located in Jackson County, Michigan about 12:45 a.m. Monday.
Additional details surrounding their arrests were not immediately available. Police say formal charges would be sought by the FBI in the next couple days.
Authorities say the suspects robbed an employee attending to an ATM outside the Bradford Bank in the 1100 block of Woodcrest around 8 a.m. Friday. Police say she was holding money when one of the suspects walked up behind her, put a gun to her head and took the money.
That suspect took an undermined of cash enclosed in an ATM box and fled east on foot.
Authorities searched for the suspects using a police plane and K-9 units. Several other agencies, including Illinois State Police and the FBI, assisted in the search.
Highland High School, Highland Middle School and St. Paul Elementary were among several schools in the area placed on lockdown Friday during the search
