EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (AP) -- Authorities in East St. Louis say a 1-year-old girl was killed when she was run over by a car after a boy inside listening to music started the vehicle and put it into gear.
The accident happened shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday.
Police say an 11-year-old boy had grabbed the car keys without his mother's knowledge and climbed into the vehicle to listen to the radio.
After he turned the music off, a 12-year-old boy who was also in the car started the vehicle and put it into gear. The vehicle rolled forward and ran over the 1-year-old girl.
