ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- One person was killed and four others injured when two cars apparently collided, slamming one vehicle into a building in north St. Louis on Saturday night.
Charges have been issued against 27-year old Glenn Shelby for the accident. Shelby is charged with involuntary manslaughter, assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
The accident happened in front of the Gateway Auto shop near the intersection of Lee and Fair around 8 p.m.
Four adults and one child were injured in the crash. One adult victim, later identified as Lameem Jones, 23, from St. Louis, was declared dead at the scene. Three others were transported to the hospital in serious but stable condition, and a fifth victim was hospitalized in critical condition.
Witnesses at the scene told News 4 a white car was speeding on Lee Avenue when it struck a green vehicle head on, killing a passenger in the green car. The white vehicle then apparently crashed into a nearby building.
Several witnesses reported that the white vehicle was being pursued by police at the time of the crash.
Bond has been set at $100,000 cash only.
