Authorities said the suspect forced his way into an apartment where his three children lived in the 1300 block of North 7th Street around 11:30 p.m.

Police said he opened fired on two men inside. One victim, 27-year-old John Gorman, was struck in the head and torso. He was transported to the hospital where he later died.
