(KMOV) – A woman is suing a police officer who she said repeatedly body slammed her against her car. At the time, he was the son of the police chief.

Investigative Reporter Craig Cheatham first exposed the alleged abuse two years ago and he said it’s the third federal lawsuit filed against Officer Michael Baxton Junior in the last year and a half.

In every case, he is accused of physically abusing people and violating their civil rights.

In court records, the Village of Alorton denies the allegations against Officer Baxton.

Baxton’s father was sent to prison for stealing what he thought was police evidence and lying about it to Federal agents.

After leaving the Alorton Police Department, Baxton Jr. rejoined the East St. Louis Police Department where he was shot and seriously wounded.

The other two cases filed against him allege that he abuse suspects when he was an East St. Louis Cop. Michael Baxton Jr. is still on the East St. Louis Police Force.
