(KMOV.com) – Snow and ice from the latest winter storm caused two separate accidents on Interstate 55 late Tuesday night.

Officials say two cars collided on southbound I-55 at Reavis Barracks around 11:55 p.m. The right lane of I-55 was closed until the accident was cleared at 12:27 a.m.

The second accident took place near 11:30 p.m. when a black pick-up truck left the road, hit a guardrail and landed in a ditch on northbound I-55 at Union.

A tire came off of the truck, which sustained extensive damage to its front end. The right lane of NB I-55 was closed while the accident was cleared.

No injuries were reported.
