SPRINGFIELD, Il. (KMOV) – News 4 has investigated Metro East police officials who were disgracing the law enforcement profession by committing illegal acts for years.

Several Metro East leaders showed their support at the state Capitol for a proposal to have state oversight of four police departments.
    
Officials from East St Louis, Alorton, Brooklyn and Washington Park attended a hearing of the Illinois Senate's Executive Committee.
    
St. Clair County State's Attorney Brendan Kelly points out that the homicide rate in those cities is 20 times the national average    Also in the past year there have been 18 felony charges filed against law enforcement members in those same areas.
