(KMOV) -- A giant hold has become a well-known eyesore for the residents of Belleville but it could be finally fixed.
Asbestos, debris and weeds were removed from the site. It was left after two businesses burned down in 2010.
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency will make sure all asbestos was removed.
A contractor will then bring in dirt to fill the hole. The City plans to put in a new sidewalk once the cleanup is finished.
