(KMOV) – Charges are expected against a woman accused of fleeing in a vehicle with two infants inside in a north St. Louis neighborhood on Thursday.

According to authorities, the suspect fled the area of  the 4300 block of Lee in a 2008 navy Pontiac Grand Prix shortly before 3 p.m. with an infant that was allegedly not hers. In leaving the scene, the suspect reportedly crashed into another car.

Officers responded to that area following a report of a dispute between two women known to one another. Police say they located one woman who took a 7-month-old infant belonging to the other woman.

There was a second infant, age 9-months-old, inside the vehicle which is believed to be the suspect’s child.

Both children and the suspect were located at around 4 p.m in the area of 14th and Chouteau.

Further details were not immediately released.
