(KMOV) -- A University City woman tells News 4 computer hackers took over her laptop and used it to take pictures of her in her house.

Dolly Richardson says it started during an online bridge game when her computer flashed a fake warning from the FBI saying she had broken the law and needed to pay $300 to free her computer.

Two days later she says the warning showed a picture of her in her home.

“It was very frightening,” Richardson told News 4.

She paid a repairman $180 to rid the computer of the virus.

Computer experts say what happened is possible with the new malware out there and computer owners need to keep antivirus software up to date.
