(KMOV.com) – Three kids were transported to an area hospital after becoming unresponsive and lethargic Thursday afternoon.

According to Hazelwood Fire Department officials, three children, ages 2, 3 and 4, were found to be seriously lethargic but breathing when officers arrived at the home on Tamma Lane shortly before 1 p.m.

The children were under the care of a babysitter who alerted authorities of thier conditions.

They were transported to De Paul Hosptial but later taken by medical helicopter to a local children's hospital for treatment. Their conditions were not released at this time.

At this time, the case does not appear to be of criminal nature and no signs of abuse or trauma were found.

The fire department checked the residence for toxins and anything in the air with nothing detected.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
