(KMOV) -- Illinois residents might benefit by crossing the river and buying their school supplies in Missouri during tax free weekend.
The three-day holiday began at 12:01 a.m. Friday and runs through Sunday
During those three days, some counties and cities in Missouri will lower the cost of clothing, school supplies, computers, and other school items.
The Missouri Department of Revenue said when buying items, shoppers have limits on how much to purchase. Shoppers can only purchase clothing totaling less than $100 and school supplies less than $50.
Although it is technically called the "Back to School Sales Tax Holiday", you don't have to be a student or a Missouri resident to participate.
