(KMOV) -- Police in O’Fallon, Mo. are searching for the driver who struck two children overnight.
According to reports, 4-year-old Brian Heney and his neighbor, 14-year-old Brazia Doak, were both riding around on an electric scooter on Pine Oak Park when they were sideswiped by a truck.
The children were slammed to the ground and suffered minor injuries. They are expected to be OK.
Police are looking for the truck, which they believe to be white, and the person who was driving it.
Neighbors in the area said drivers constantly travel too fast on the road.
Neighbors in every corner of the mobile home park told News 4 drivers consistently travel too fast through the streets frequently full of small children.
But O'Fallon police said the victims should not have been using the scooter on the streets because it is against the law to ride them anywhere but on private property.
The investigation is ongoing.
