(KMOV.com) –  News 4 discussed with area superintendents how they make the decision to cancel school.

Mehlville School District Superintendent Eric Knost told News 4 the decision to close schools is not easy. He says it all comes down to safety. Every night during bad weather he holds a conference call with other superintendents in the county to discuss the decision.

The superintendent for Webster Groves posted a video on the district's website stating they look at weather reports and radar to decide what is safe for those traveling to the schools.

While many schools closed for another day, some did open feeling that the conditions were favorable to hold classes.
