(KMOV.com) -- 70 bridges across St. Louis had to be treated for the coming cold Monday night.
Crews spray the bridges with a brine solution because they have a higher risk of freezing over.
The process takes several hours especially when only split between two trucks, as it was Monday.
City officials say they’re doing the treatment mainly as a precaution and are not expecting a severe snowfall.
They do say they want the roads safe for drivers Tuesday morning.
