(KMOV) – A St. Louis-based company which owns Steak ‘N Shake franchises in Missouri is suing the corporation for the right to stop selling the $4 bargain meals.
In the lawsuit, the franchise, Druco Resturants, complains that the $4 meals lose money and the franchise owners are supposed to have the right to set their own prices.
News 4 learned these lower-priced meals are a hit with area customers.
“My family loves the $4 menu, the kids eat on it, the wife eats on it, and you know burgers. We just had the chili 3-way, can’t go wrong with it. A lot of variety for a good price,” Bobby Weidler said.
The law firm representing the franchise owners did not return calls made by News 4.
