(KMOV) – Spring officially began at 11:57 a.m. today, and the weather is accommodating the shift in seasons.

Temperatures started off in the 30s this morning, but are expected to reach a high of about 64 degrees under sunny conditions by the late afternoon, says News 4 Meteorologist Kent Ehrhardt.

“We have a beautiful evening ahead and even better tomorrow,” Ehrhardt said.

Friday’s temperatures will reach a high of about 73 degrees.

“Unfortunately the clouds will increase and about 3 p.m. we’ll start to see a few showers in the area,” Ehrhardt. “They’ll be light and spotty, not a lot in the way of rain.”

A cold front will knock temperatures down on Saturday and Sunday.

Ehrhardt said we’re looking at the potential for some wintry weather on Tuesday.
