(KMOV) – Police are investigating after thieves smashed into the back of a business in the Central West End area early Friday morning.

Police said the suspects rammed a truck into the National Rent-to-Own store near the intersection of Sarah and McPherson around 4 a.m.

Authorities said the suspects appeared to have stolen seven flat screen televisions. One television they tried to steal dropped out of the truck and was later found by police near the business. It was not known if anything else was taken.

Police did not have any information on suspects and it was unclear if anyone was in custody.

It was the second smash-and-grab burglary in as many days in the St. Louis area in what has become one of the more popular crime trends over the past several months.
