Section of I-70 forced to close due to flooding near Highland

(KMOV) -- A section of Interstate 70 flooded near Highland, Ill. on Thursday, forcing authorities to close a portion of the highway.

The Route 143 exit ramp on westbound I-70 at mile marker 30 was covered in flood water and orange cones were put up to block cars from going through.

Officials said a FedEx truck overturned three miles west of that, causing traffic to be diverted.

It was not known if the wreck was weather related.

All lanes have since reopened.
