HILLSDALE, Missouri (KMOV.com) -- A second man has been charged in connection with the shooting death of a 22-year-old Imo’s pizza delivery driver in the north St. Louis County neighborhood of Hillsdale.
Shermell Crockett, 20, was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and two counts of armed criminal action. Authorities had already charged Chester R. Woods, 20, with second-degree murder and first-degree robbery in connection to the death of Danill Maksimenko, 22.
Police said Woods and a second person approached Maksimenko and shot him in his vehicle while he was delivering a pizza in the 2100 block of Erick around 12:45 a.m. on Saturday.
Maksimenko, who was struck in the head, was transported to Barnes-Jewish Hospital, where he later died.
According to court records, Woods said he was not the gunman, but admitted to taking part in the crime. He told police four people robbed the victim, according to a probable cause statement filed in court.
Woods remains in custody on a $250,000 cash-only bond. Crockett’s bond was set at $500,000.
Police said they are still looking for two more people to question in the case.
