(KMOV.com) — A neighborhood brawl got out of control Wednesday night, with dozens of participants spilling into south St. Louis streets.

It was close to 1 a.m. when the brawl broke out with groups of teens jumping into the action near the intersection of Alabama and Blow.

It was second apparently organized fight within the city in less than a week.

When neighbor Loretta Miller went to bed Wednesday night her neighbor warned her there would be a small party next door, assuring her nothing would get out of control.

“When I talked to him he said it was just going to be a few kids,” she said. It wasn’t long  before dozens of teens filed into the intersection ready to throw punches.

Neighbors say they heard the commotion and cop cars. An officer on scene confirmed two groups were part of the increasingly common organized fight mob.

St. Louis police were unavailable for interview but say no report was filed on last night’s incident.

After a similar brawl broke out in the Delmar Loop, Police Chief Sam Dotson said the department will prepare a plan to combat this growing trend.

Residents in south city are desperate for police intervention before this trouble between groups of teens grows out of control.

“That’s a lot of people. It’s not going to stop there,” Miller said. “It’s going to escalate and get worse and I’m not leaving my home.”

Unlike the Delmar Loop incident, no shots were fired Wednesday night.

But residents say they’re concerned that as summer approaches and classes let out, this trend will not be going away anytime soon.
