(KMOV) -- Parents in the Pattonville School District are worried sick, wondering if they’re kids are safe at their bus stops after another reported case of an attempted abduction over a 24-hour period.

The first one happened Tuesday in the Spanish Village neighborhood in Bridgeton. The second today’s attempted abduction on Muro Lane in Bridgeton.

Bridgeton Police tell News 4’s Lauren Trager, they are very aware of the two incidents. News 4 was told right now, they don’t know if they are connected, but whoever is doing it is still on the loose and that has parents losing sleep.

“Just worrying about their safety, they can’t even go to the bus stop in their neighborhood without worrying,” said mother Mary Pace.

With four kids in the Pattonville school district, Pace is upset about back to back issues at bus stops.

“Why this is still going on, how people can keep doing this day after day,” said Pace.

Tuesday, the Pattonville School District told parents that a man had approached an elementary school student in the Spanish Village neighborhood asking to talk.

The boy ran away, but told police the white man was in his 40’s was approximately 5’11 tall, 180 pounds and had brown hair.

Then, on Wednesday, a man with a very similar description allegedly grabbed a little girl from her bus stop on Muro Lane, six miles away. This time, the man was driving a white van.

The girl got away unharmed.

“At least she is okay and hopefully we will get this person off the street,” said Kara Oliveras, the girl’s mother.

Police say they are stepping up patrols at bus stops. But some parents aren’t yet convinced.

“Do you think authorities are doing enough to keep this from happening?” asked Reporter Lauren Trager. “I don’t know they can do enough to keep this from happening,” Pace said.

Parents in these neighborhoods say they’ll be keeping close eyes on their kids until whoever is doing it is behind bars
