(KMOV) -- Students at SIUE may see higher tuition prices across the board, but engineering students will get hit the hardest with a fifteen percent increase.

The SIUE Board of Trustees says faculty for the engineering program is more expensive. The reason is because the program has to constantly update material, equipment and maintain smaller class sizes to be effective.

"I think it is ridicules because we already pay so much for tuition,” said SIUE student Isaiah Thomas. “They don’t take into consideration family. We have two kids going to college right now and that puts a burden on my family with the price going up."

The next Board of Trustees meeting in April 10th.
